Calendar analytics only see what's on the calendar. Communication Report adds ad-hoc calls and messaging on top of scheduled meetings, so the Communication Time number reflects the whole day, not just what got booked.
No. Communication Load, Communication over Time, App Breakdown, Messaging Details, and Employee Breakdown all work without one. Connecting Google Calendar or Microsoft Outlook Calendar adds the Scheduled Meeting Details widget and splits scheduled meetings from ad-hoc calls.
No. It counts messages and their timing: direct, channel, or thread, and whether they land during or after working hours. It doesn't show what was written.
Both. Communication Load and the trend widgets default to a team or org view. Employee Breakdown shows the same metrics by person, so a manager or admin with report access can see whether the load is spread evenly across a team.
The moment you disconnect your calendar, Scheduled Meeting Details widget will not provide data anymore. Historical data will still be visible.
No. Tools like Fathom or Granola capture what was said in a meeting. Communication Report only totals how much time meetings, calls, and messages take, and what’s left for focused work. It doesn’t record, transcribe, or store what was discussed.
